Chemical Splash
is eye wash from a first-aid kit ok to use if its out of date?
I’ve just done a first aid course and on my return to work i did an inventory of the kit. we have some bottles of saline for any chemical splashes we might have at work (we work with fibreglass and sometimes get resin splashes in our eyes) i noticed they had a use by date of may 2008. they are sealed so the contents are sterilized. is the use by date just a load of bullsh*t like the food in supermarkets so that gullable people throw perfectly good stuff away and buy more or would the eye wash be no good. after all, whats saline? just salt water isn’t it? thanks
You could use it. However, it may not be as effective as it was before its expiration date.
